Heart problems: sudden weight loss can damage the blood vessels which further leads to fluctuations in heart rate, blood pressure, irregular heart rhythm, thus increases the risk of heart failure. I thought maybe my anaemia had returned but my doctor thinks it down to the rapid weight loss. has anyone else heard of this? i've done a little research on the web and apparently ketosis can cause heart palpitations which is a common side effect of a high protein, low carbohydrate diet.. Weight loss, changes in appetite, heart palpitations and possibly tachycardia, nervousness/anxiety without explanation, insomnia are all related to thyroid conditions. usually weight loss is associated with hyperthyroidism (hypothyroidism is the other one, and is associated with weight gain, feeling cold all the time, fatigue, lethargy, etc etc.
